AI: Ciao, Ace!

I can't say I'm sorry to see Ace finally be voted off
- I've been expecting it for weeks now. My big
question is "why was Pickler not in the bottom 3 last
night?"

She was horrendous on "Bewitched, Bothered and
Bewildered." She was the worst singer on Tuesday
(followed closely by Ace so I'm not bone-picking here)
and still received enough votes to launch over the
tops of Chris and Paris in number of votes, both of
whom sang much better than she did.

Oh, well, there's no understanding the voting, and I
think votefortheworse.com has targeted Kellie. Then
she does that damned "I'm sawry" thing and pouts a
little and people just rush to the phone to vote for
the poor little girl.....

Anyway, Rod Stewart sang "The Way You Look Tonight" -
he looked great and he sounded great. His fiance was
in the audience and couldn't keep her eyes off of him
- sweet.

There're seven kids left so, of course, Ryan did the
old "divide them into two groups and let the 7th
figure it out" ploy they do every year. In this case,
the two groups were Ace/Chris/Paris and
Kat/Kellie/Elliott. Two good singers and one clunker
in each group. It was left to Taylor to pick - he
tried the old fakeout for a sec by walking toward the
wrong group, almost faked out Ryan, then walked to
Kat/Kellie/Elliott - which was correct - they were all
safe.

Ryan sent Paris back to the benches, leaving Chris and
Ace on stage. Then he announced Ace was out. This
vote will hopefully wake up Chris' fans. Including me
- I didn't vote at all the past couple of weeks.

The next two to go should be Kellie and Paris. I'd
put Taylor next - I don't think Taylor will win but
he's just different enough that it's possible. After
that I couldn't choose between Elliott, Katharine or
Chris - I think they're all excellent.

Next week: Andrea Bocelli and the Great Love Songs.
With a performance on Wednesday. Should be interesting.....

I wonder if he has a new album coming out soon. Why else do this?
