I don't think Zayra hit one correct note last night.
With her odd notes and key-changing I barely
recognized Mott the Hoople's "All The Young Dudes" and
WOW that song is old. It's gotta go back to the
really early '70's. I'm not sure I knew that David
Bowie wrote it before Brooke told me so.
Storm rocked with "We Are the Champions." I think the
SN spooked her after the first couple of weeks because
she has toned down her "rocking" so much - I think she
just needs to do her thing and make them love it or
hate it but not tone herself down just for them - of
course, depending on how badly she wants this gig,
she's also smart for changing it up some. She's
really an excellent singer and performer so, in the
long run, it doesn't matter.
Zayra needs to go - my picks for bottom 3 tonight are
her, Jill, Ryan. Throw in Patrice and that's my
bottom 4.
Lukas sang "Creep" and the audience and SN raved, but
it wasn't that good - less snarling and screaming but
still could have been better - I'm done with the
posturing, which ruins all of his performances for me.
And the makeup looks like he's crying all the time.
And Lukas is not Marty, who totally owned that song
last year.
Marty. swoon.
Oh, and Maime is swooning too - she came to my desk
and grabbed my last year's RS cd she made from
downloads - which includes several Marty songs,
INCLUDING the totally-awesome-and-totally-unbelievable
-if-you-didn't-hear-it-performed-song.....
"Hit Me Baby One More Time".
Yes, indeed, that loathsome Britney song. Which was
transformed by Marty into something cool. Ah, Marty.
I love you.
