Too good to forget

It's nutty what I obsess about sometimes.

All day today I've been thinking about the macaroni
and cheese dish I made yesterday. MAC AND CHEESE!
Bro Ken and I had asked the folks and Bro Steve if
they wanted to come over for Memorial Day and have a
barbecue, and be on the patio, depending on the
weather. Mom has a really hard time climbing the step
into my house so when it's nice we're always outside.

It rained Saturday. It rained Sunday. And Monday
dawned pretty nice and got better throughout the
afternoon. I called them and they said they'd really
rather stay at home and not trust the weather to stay
nice (how can I blame them?)

So we decided to take dinner over there. Ken started
barbecuing his ribs at about 11:00 am - a couple of
racks at a time at a couple hours per session, so he
got those done about 3:00. FOUR racks of pork ribs -
we have LOTS of leftovers. I decided to make
something else meaty that Dad could eat because he
can't really gnaw on ribs anymore - I think he's just
never adjusted well to his dentures...so I made mac
and cheese with loads of sausage. Oh, man, THIS WAS
GOOD! There was quite a bit left but I left it over
at their house for them to munch on today. And my
mouth has been watering for it all day - I'm obsessing
on my sausage mac and cheese. Salivating over it.
And I left it over there.....

I also made a salad with lettuce, cabbage, grated
carrots, sharp cheese and grape tomatos which was
really good but I'm not fantasizing about it. Baked
beans? No excess saliva. Corn on the cob? Nope.

Just the damned sausage mac and cheese.
