Damn, one whole hour to make a 5-second announcement!
I didn't watch it, it was on against the season finale
of The Amazing Race and 60 minutes of excitement and
adrenelin vs. 55 minutes of filler - no contest!
I did flip to AI during commercials to see if any
progress had been made and here's what I saw:
filler, sucky stuff, homey stuff, filler, sucky stuff,
homey stuff, and on and on.
FINALLY, they announced the vote. Ryan pointed out
how close the numbers were : 33.68%, 33.26%, and
33.06% - can't get much closer, that's for sure. Then
he announced that Elliott got the 33.06%- the least
amount of votes - and was out.
Tears flowed and Elliott had his "Bad Day" homage.
I'll miss him.
That leaves inconsistent Kat or spazzy Taylor as the
next American Idol. Can't say either is my choice.
ON THE OTHER HAND, BJ and Tyler won TAR!!!! Now, they
WERE my pick from the beginning. I've continually
admired how they stayed relatively calm, picked up
each other's spirits, actively enjoyed talking with
people all over the world and learning bits of all
different languages. They were consistently polite
and were superb players and I don't think they left
any Ugly American skidmarks as they raced around. The
frat boys were just skeevy and rude most of the time.
The funniest thing? Eric and Jeremy were visibly
pissed off when they came in second. Talk about sore
losers - they didn't even try to hide their hatred of
coming in second. Third place Ray and Yolanda, on the
other hand, were just as happy and lovey-dovey as
could be.
